The Theory of Surrender

We were discussing the burden of scars.

And I was sharing with her the dilemma of scars, and how to deal with them.

And whether or not we are able to overcome these scars.

And why do the scars linger for so long?

I told her that I try to convince myself that those scars are in the past and that they should not have an effect on me, and I try to distract myself to not feel their effect, but they always manage to creep back in and take control all over again.

But she presented a different perspective.

Surrender.

As a way of dealing with scars, she suggested that we should surrender and let go.

The idea struck me as insane at first, but then I thought about it and I started seeing flashes of brilliance in that proposition.

Surrender.

Simply, suddenly, completely .

And then deal with the reality.

So, it is like saying, OK destiny. You won this one, what else do you want?

I give in.

I am going to stop resisting.

Stop fighting.

I am going to go about my business now.

I am doing to draw my strength and solace from the parallel world that I created while you were busy subjugating me, and from this parallel world I will shape my existence and to this parallel world I shall escape from your hollow victory.

Right?

She nodded with approval, she sanctioned my interpretation.

But wouldn’t surrender change you? I asked

What do you mean?

I mean, if you surrender, and draw in from your parallel universe, will you be the same person?

Of course not. That’s the whole point.

So?

So what?

I don't want to become another person.

You want to be the same person? With your scars?

No.

So, surrender. Don’t you see?

The reason you suffer is not because you have scars, it is because you are still fighting them.

When you surrender your scars surrender too. Because their job will have finished.

Their reason for being expired.

They “won”

Its over

Interesting.
